Dr. Ricardo Tarrasch

Dr. Ricardo Tarrasch is a faculty member in the Department of Learning Disabilities at the School of Education and the School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University. His research interests include the neurological, cognitive, and emotional effects of mindfulness training among regular children and teachers, and adults with learning disabilities and/or attentional problems. Among his studies, he assessed the effects of mindfulness practice on reading accuracy among dyslexic students, with promising results. He also promotes and assesses the effects of social-emotional learning among teachers, children and parents. He has assessed the effects of early interventions for deaf and hard of hearing children including the effects of parent's involvement. He is currently involved in a large study aiming to map brain regions related to linguistic processing, and specifically to distinct types of dyslexia. He combines teaching and research on meditation in the academic field. His teaching areas include: research methodology, statistics, meditation in education, mind brain and education and cognition, emotion and learning.
